What does "properly annealled for strength" mean?
All glass is stressed when worked. In order to maintain the strength of the glass, after it is worked it goes through the annealling process. The glass is put in a kiln and the temperature of the kiln is dropped very slowly over night. This allows the glass to release all the stress that was placed on it when working it and leaves it as strong as possible for sale.
